2025 Spring Recreational Soccer


Registration Dates:  
November 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025

Special Requests need to be made on the registration form under "special requests". Requests will be considered and every effort will be made to accommodate requests but there are no guarantees. 

Season Dates: 
First games are scheduled for Saturday, April 5 with the last game scheduled for Saturday, May 17. All games are at Fir Grove Fields. Please be advised there are a limited number of parking spaces so be mindful about arriving early enough to park. We have made efforts to space games out to better accommodate this issue.

What's Next
You will hear from your coach a week or two before the first scheduled game. The office has no way of knowing when you will hear from your coach, when practices will be or who your coach will be until just before season starts.  We know your player is anxious but please be patient and wait to hear from your coach. If for some reason you haven't heard from your coach by March 21 please email the office at [email protected] so we can follow up. 

Medical Release Forms
One of the digital agreements you signed when registering your player was that you would provide a Medical Release Form. These are available in the office and can be filled out and signed on the first night of practices or game day. This agreement to sign the Medical Release Form is only an option if we get the signed forms for all players, either in hard copy or digitally. Please make this a priority in order to not hinder the registration process in the future.  We only need one medical release per year and we collect them in the Spring each year. 

Jersey's
The recreational league will get two jerseys; one green and one gray.  Gray (light) is Home and Green (dark) is Away. Your player should have BOTH jersey's with them every weekend for their games. Your team's game schedule on the website (or GameChanger) tells you if you are Home Team or Away Team each week. If you forget to bring your player's jersey you can check with your coach to see if they have a "blood" jersey; if not there is a replacement cost of $10 for each jersey, the office does not have loaners. 

Pictures
Photo sessions for the 2025 Spring Recreational Teams have been reserved for Saturday, April 19, 26 and May 3. Your coach will be notified of your team's scheduled slot about a week in advance. Coaches are advised to post this information in the GameChanger App.  Photo order forms can be found in the office if you do not receive one or misplace yours. 

Referees
If you or someone you know is interested in ref'ing for us, please ask them to email their interest and contact information to [email protected]. If they become a referee and are used during the season 3 or more Saturday's referring ref's will receive a one time $10 referral bonus. 

Interested in earning more per game? For those refs who attend our Referee Training Class (date TBD) will receive an extra $3 per game ref'd for the season. You must attend the training each season in order to receive the pay increase. Please register for this training by emailing [email protected]

GameChanger
We use GameChanger App for team communication and event/program announcements. Please download the app and get your account registered so you are ready to receive correspondence from your team leaders. 

Volunteers
Interested in volunteering your time while your player practices? Maybe you have an hour to spare for some cleaning? Or you prefer to volunteer from home? Or outside, be it rain or shine.  No matter your gift of service we have a place for you.  All volunteers, including parents, must have a background check done through OYSA in order to be on the fields with the players. Please log in to your account and sign up as a volunteer today. 

Club Fundraising
     BottleDrop - Grab a Blue Bag (available in the club foyer), fill it up with cans and bottles and return it to the clubhouse or drop off at the nearest  BottleDrop to donate to the club. 
     Fred Meyer Rewards - Register us as your organization of choice with Fred Meyer Rewards then just shop as usual. This is a free way to  support our club. 
     Sponsorships - You, or someone you know, can sponsor a team and have your business name advertised on jerseys, on our website and on        the field. For more information contact our sponsorship leader, Michele Krueger
     Concession Stand - All proceeds from the Fir Grove Concession stand support our club. During the recreational season we are open every Saturday from 8am to 12.

2025 Spring Recreational Soccer

What is Recreational Soccer? Recreational soccer primarily devotes itself to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on high-level pressure to win. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, play with a sense of team and community, learn the sport, and develop life skills including a life long love of the game.
  •    There is no selection or tryout process. 
  •    Equal playing time.
  •    All players who register are assigned to a team as long as space is available on team rosters.
  • There is usually a one-time registration fee for each 6 – 8 week season.
  •    Players benefit from the opportunity of social interaction with other players of their own age.
  •    Players learn basic soccer skills while benefitting from the physical fitness aspects of the game.
  •    All games are usually held at the same location every weekend for the 6 – 8 week season.
  • Practices are one to one and one half hour, twice a week, with games on Saturday. Practice days/times are determined by each coach individually and not by the Club.
