The Project
In 2027, the City of Roseburg and Umpqua United Soccer Club (UUSC) plan to build two full-size, lighted turf fields at Fir Grove Park. The fields will serve soccer, football, lacrosse, and the wider community, giving Roseburg a safe, dependable place to play in every season and after dark.
Why It Matters
Rain and short winter days limit how often our grass fields can be used. Games get canceled, practices get cut short, and fields need time to recover. Lighted turf changes that:
- Play year-round, regardless of weather
- Evening use for practices, games, and community events
- More playing time for more kids across multiple sports
- Lower long-term maintenance than grass fields
- Ability to host tournaments and events that bring visitors to Roseburg
Where We Are
The City of Roseburg has secured grant funding and is pursuing additional grants. To close the gap, UUSC and the Roseburg community are working together to raise the remaining $500,000.
